    Hey y'all,

I'm interested in eventually getting into some kind of competition, newbie friendly, in the SE La. area. In GA, I participated in an informal weekly .22 Bullseye league. I also tried bowling pin, low light, and got close to trying IDPA, before moving back to LA. Up there, I had 4 or 5 indoor ranges within :30 drive that had various events weekly or bi-weekly. Outdoor was available as well, little more drive time, although I didn't do any of that.

I see in this forum that each different club/discipline lists their events separately.

What would be cool, if it doesn't exist already, is a concise list of competitions available. I would envision something like (example):

    3 gun - Poplarville Gun Club - every 3rd Saturday - location - entry $ - www.website.com
    3 gun - Biloxi Gun Club - Saturdays - location - entry $ - www.---.com
    IDPA - Hammond Gun Club - Tueday nights - location - www.---.com

    you get the idea.......
Maybe it could be a "Sticky"? I'm new, both to the area and to comp. shooting.

Maybe I'm just lazy and don't want to scroll through each thread :p

Does this exist somewhere within Bayou Shooter.com?

    Thanks

That would be a good idea. Now, if you think you are too lazy to scroll through each disciplines threads; then what ever you do, DO NOT TRY TO SEARCH FOR THEM IN THE SEARCH FUNCTION! ;)

This inside (well known BS Site flaw), joke never gets old for me! :D

Thanks all! I know that half my problem is just being new and not familiar with the local clubs & ranges. At least a 1/3 more is not being greatly familiar with the different disciplines, guns required, etc.....I just need to do more research.

Glad I have y'all now. Will check out the above links.

    DH,

Where exactly are you seeing match listings on LSA's site? I don't see it. I see a calendar, but there is nothing listed for Feb. besides their annual meeting 2/28. March is empty.
Their results or "scores" section is pathetic. Mostly last updated in 2013. Air rifle last updated in 2010. I'm a member and joined so i could join the CMP. I guess they mostly work on legislation? Not really sure what they do! LOL
CMP doesn't have any scheduled matches, AT ALL, listed for LA or MS on the comp tracker. At least I can't find them.
I have a feeling you didn't look at these sites before you answered the thread ;) Thanks anyway.

My whole point is this.....for a new BS member, or someone like me who'd like to get into some local shooting events, it doesn't seem like the local people organizing these events are really trying too hard to grow them. I understand that maybe that's how they like/want it. But, if they do want to recruit new shooters, my opinion is that they're doing a poor job. If I can go to a single source that's easy to navigate, not only am I more inclined to participate, bringing in a little more $, but I can also tell my friends and relatives, and send them to the same, easy to find & navigate source.

Granted, I can search multiple threads, or multiple forums, but that's what I'm trying to avoid. I've got 3 worksheets of 3rd grade math, AR test prep, and a Science project due! My time is limited LOL!!! Also, explanations of the different disciplines and basic rules, equipment needed, cost, etc...are all valuable to someone searching for a match.

I'm not trying to ruffle feathers in a bad way, I just think it would be helpful.

Who is this forum's (Competition) admin? I will do any work I can on this to get the ball rolling, but only if they want and I'm not overstepping my place.
    Cheers!
