I still like the weight of the Barteaux an sons, have a couple 16", 18" and 22" straight and saw back, Buy em when i can find em, as they finally folded, due to cheap china imports. have 1 old military WW11 vintage, 30 1/2 inches overall.

I'm also positive that Sinclair's army surplus is now closed. I've had the old fashioned Ontario machete that was first pictured in the thread since 1989. It's been a great machete so far.

Gerber brush thinner. This is one bad ass little machete, and it will take a beating. The wife even accidently built a fire on top of mine,.. I smoothed the handle back down and put it right back to work.

Picked this guy up from daluth trading since I was placing and order anyways. Little pricey but I really like it. Cut a bunch of banana trees down today with it.

I like a good machete. I've had a few over the years and still favor the old mil surp, although there are so many new offerings. I've rescued a few of the oldies, usually just a little de-rusting or some new handles due to the old plastic "US" hollow scales falling apart after a few years.
    Or just make one...

This puppy was a very old framing square that just happened to have the right temper and mass. It weren't fit for duty as a square anymore, so it found a new life and has seen about 15 years of service. Fit right in the old "US" green canvas scabbard by chance.
