Looks like there will be a lot of used Glock 22, 23, & 27s on the market soon.

Our government just loves wasting money. Its a damned way of life for them. I own a G19 (owned a G23 too), but there isn't a darned thing wrong with .40 cal Glocks. Just plain wasteful and stupid!

The FBI is doing it right and many others are doing the same thing.

Knowing our current government officials, the Glock's will be destroyed rather than allowing FFL'S to buy them and place on the market.
God forbid they should try and recover some of the original cost.

Slight deviation from the OP, but wasn't the .40 s&w developed as a result of the FBI being under gunned with the standard issue 0.357" projectiles and wheel guns of the late 1980s? I guess if you can shove 8 more rounds in a magazine it compensates for lesser power cartridges? No real point here, just a thought.

I get that there have been advancements in bullet technology, but I still keep my .40s near the bed and in the car when I'm not going to conceal carry. I do find that 9mm is much more manageable in something tiny like my Shield, which is why I have it in 9mm, but I'll take the bigger bullets when I don't need a tiny gun.

When speaking of defensive loads, there is no advantage to .40 over 9mm.

It is common for LEA's to trade their old pistols and a small fee such as $100 each for new pistols. The old pistols go to a BL FFL and sold at a reasonable price.
