When I was still in highschool a buddy of mines dad came into a few cases of .38 special, and told us to have fun, never had a problem in my Rossi or his S&W.

The reason I am asking I have Cimarron Arms Richards Transition Model in 38 Special. I found some 38 Special with 158 grain SJHP slugs. It is hard to find regular 38 special HP rounds. Every body’s got +Ps. I can’t use um.

I have never used their ammo, but I have used their LP Primers specially when all the other "known" brands where out it was always easy to find magtech for some reasson or another.

They seem to work better than WOLF IMO, and anever gave me any issue.

I used up 10,000 Magtech primers without a failure during the great shortage.

I also shot a good bit of Magtech .38 without issue.

If you just want regular .38 last time I was in academy in Lafayette I got some Remington ball and they had Hornady Critical Defense in .38 special. The Magtech will be cheaper though.

MagTech is made in Brazil, and is good stuff.

IIRC Federal/ATK offers the re-introduced NyClad/HP bullet in a standard pressure loading.

That thing looks like a hoot to shoot. Does it have a loading gate?

    .

Yep it has a loading gate. What it is supposed to be is a Colt 1861 NAVY in 36 cal. that has been converted to 38 Special. I love to paretic quick draw with it. The only thing it does have an eight inch barrel. I love how it shoots.

The Richards Transition Model Conversion combines the early Richards ejector with the Richards-Mason conversion ring, gate and hammer. This rare model is commonly called the 'Transition Model'.
