How does it do at 250? 50 yard groups are easy with iron sights. I'm genuinely curious, because the old buffer zone range allowed us 250 yard shots, and I'd like to see how the M38 compares to the AK with iron sights. I could break clay pigeons at 250 with about 3 shots with a Romanian AK kit (that I built), and I'd like to know how well a scope improves that performance.

.No. just punch out the two pins on the sight and put mount on and replace srews instead of pins.you can still use sight up to 200m. Still waiting on scope, can,t wait to shoot. Scope is a NcStar 2-7X32 long eye relief (pistol).

What mount do you use where you can still use the iron sights?

The people at Brass Stacker who make the mount swear my them. And I hate to say it , but it was cheap!

I had a Brass Stacker see thru mount on a 91/30. It NEVER lost zero, but you could still use iron sights if it ever did.

Sold that gun and used the money to get a Finn M27 Mosin Nagant. I like my M38 just fine, but my 91/59 can WAY outshoot it.

14 Mosin Nagants......and holding till I see another one I have to have.
