We know its against the law in this state. Most of us do anyways. I and sure he was, referring to it being legal in California and how it should be done if legal here.

Way back in 92 I was in LA and driving a one ton chevy truck with a flatbed and underbed toolboxes.A lanesplitter snaged his shin on my rightside box that had its door open.We pulled over and he checked his bleeding shin while I checked my truck. After seeing that my door on the box was ok I went over to him and asked why he would be stupid enough to drive like that and his reply was "I dont know".I looked at him and said Me either and got in my truck and left.Very seldom do you 'Hit" the lanesplitter you get hit by them. It's real enough. California has some stupid laws considering they're so "safety" minded. BTW if you hit a lane splitter in California...it's YOUR fault.
Pretty sure that was San Antonio, not California. I'm amazed, not one police man to try and stop him in all that distance?
From the street signs, that rider was in Texas which makes it illegal as well as retarded. I'm all for pushing the envelope a bit, but do it on a back road or a track, not in towns or during rush hour.
Wanna see real talent on a bike?
