Boogie Fever by the Slyvers - 1975
We are Family by Sister Sledge - 1979
Carwash by Rose Royce - '76
Rockin Robin by The Jackson 5 in 72-ish
The Hustle by Vance McCoy '75

All of the above are excellent choices by others but you need some disco to round it out for a decent grade.

My mother loves Crimson and Clover by Tommy James and the Shondells from the 60s. I do too. :)

Dude! That Billy Joel was in the late '80's. And it ecompassed the 40's, are you all on DOPE!

Haha, well we do go to public school.

It says like 2 things related to the project, so the rest of the group went crazy for it.

If Thomas Edison had known that Bob Dylan would be recorded on his brain child, we would be living in the dark today.

I think you're confusing Bob Dylan with Slim Whitman.

John Denver-LEAVING ON A JET PLANE (If you were in the military at that time this had special meaning)

    Freda Payne-BRING THE BOYS HOME

You guys have a computer in a public school?:eek4:

When I went to public school in N.O., we had to share an abacus that was missing some of the wooden beads.

    Must be nice?

If you're going to rep disco, you may want to go with something made popular by "Saturday night fever". Like a bee gees song..... Another vote from me for the Vietnam era would be "all along the watchtower" by hendrix

Don't forget MoTown. They ruled the airwaves in the 60's and early 70's
Temptations "Ain't to proud to beg"
    Supremes "Baby Love"
Smokey Robinson and the Miricles "Track of my tears"

    just to name a few.

    Yep, so did :

Country Joe and the Fish "I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-To-Die Rag"

Cat: You read my mind. Can't examine the 70's sans disco.
    may I suggest

Rick Dees "Disco Duck" a really stupid joke song that still got oodles of air time.
or Bee Gees "Night Fever" which really got the ball rolling.

OK, I have to put in my .02...

First and foremost, you CANNOT omit
Traffic - The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys

    After that, you could consider

The Kinks - Tales of Drunkeness and Cruelty
    Jackson Browne - For Everyman
Jimmy Buffet - Pencil Thin Mustache
The Eagles - Life in the Fast Lane
    Billy Joel - Piano Man
    Elvis Costello - Allison
    Pure Prairie League - Amy

And if you want to blow your chances of going to college...
Pink Floyd - Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving With a Pict
