I've been really busy at work lately, and missed the early hunt I usually make in Kisatche (Red Dirt) with my two brother-in-law's. This weekend, primitive weapon season opened at my lease in Area 1, and I had to work Saturday morning. I got out to the camp just before dark Saturday evening, and snuck into a stand until dark, but didn't see anything. Then Sunday morning I hunted my box stand for the first time this season. I shot these two coyotes in the first light of the day, when everything is still black and white and shades of gray, before colors can be made out. Man, my new 45-70 is a hammer!

What are you doing with the yotes? You skinning them? We had a conversation about this a while ago do you know anyone that eats them? Most of the individuals I know leave them where they fall.....

Eat'em!!! I don't think so! I tossed them into a ditch. I have skinned one before and had the hide tanned, but that was a huge, rare, solid black one:
