So we got to Ingram, Tx yesterday around 4:00 AM.
We slept for a little while and then went to town to buy our license.
Got back and went to the stands. I didn't see a thing but my Dad saw a stag that he knew I had wanted. I went to the same stand he was on yesterday this morning. After about 9:30 I hadn't see much so I got out and went to walking.
After 250 yards or so I saw them feeding through the bottom of the cedars! They were out of my comfortable range though. ( around 500 yards).
I changed direction because of the wind and walked all the way behind them. After what felt like hours walking lol, I had closed the distance to about 250 yards. I laid down and propped up on a nice log. Well..... I got him and here he is. My first pure Austrian red stag bull.
Here is my view from my actual stand

I actually just bought this rifle. Decided I wanted a new hunting rifle.
    Tikka T3 hunter in .308.
Federal Premium 165gr trophy bond. The coyote I took with the 168gr matchking. It was close to a 300yd shot on him.

    Thanks man.
Well we are gonna have a long day today!
Dad took a shot at an Audad only shot we have had since Tuesday on one. 450 yards. Hit his back leg... It was rough. Just ran up a canyon for 100 yards to even get the shot.
