It is an old hammerless folding trigger revolver. It is marked Browning on one side with a safety selector by the hammer assembly marked S for safety and FBU for fire. There are several markings on the cylinder that I will take photos of. The top of the pistol has JB. RONGE FILS LIEGE marked on it.

I think that is what was called a Velo Dog revolver but sometimes my 70 year old memory is wrong. If you have not received a correct id pm me and I will dig out some old reference books and see what I can find. Dave

google is wonderful thing... J-B Rongé Son S.A. was registered with the proofhouse of Liege from 1832 to 1929. One of several companies sued successfully by S&W for patent and copyright infringement. The company was acquired by A.R.M.A.F.

The company had no affiliation with Browning, either the inventor or the company. Ronge was known primarily for their fine shotguns, but also manufactured target and defensive pistols, including the one in the OP.

A later version of the same type of pistol from Ronge...
