So I just purchased a Ruger SR-762 and now I'm shopping around for optics.

I think I found my optic that I want in the Nightforce 5-20x56mm http://www.opticsplanet.com/nightforce-shv-5-20x56mm-riflescope-30mm.html

Question I have is what ring set to use on this rifle.....this is the first time I'm sizing a scope to rifle (my SR-556 has a simple EOTech with magnifier).

I'm looking at the Nightforce ULTRALIGHT 30mm ring set http://www.opticsplanet.com/nightforce-ultralite-30mm-titanium-alloy-ring-set.html , question is what height to get to clear the folding stock sights?

    Thanks for an advice

Lucky for you, you have the largest nightforce dealer in NA in your backyard!

You are going to need A191 the 1.375 unimount. Come see us and hammond, bring your rifle and we'll set you up.

Here's what I do and it works well for me:

    1. Buy rifle.
    2. Buy Mount.
    3. Buy Scope.
    4. Gather up a handful of pennies.
    5. Stack pennies on mount until desired height of scope is reached.
    6. Measure Stack.
    7. Buy appropriate height rings.

Remember, you're measuring from the bottom of the scope, measure your rings accordingly.
