    I have a 2014 Chevrolet LTZ, crew cab, 4x4 - Z71
It will be 1 year old tomorrow and gets awesome fuel mileage. It has since the day I bought it.
I have gotten as much as 26 on the highway and does 18+ in town.
    It now has 28,500 miles.

^^ I hope mine makes it there
Tonight it showed 16 mpg going the back roads from Gonzales to Denham. Keeping my fingers crossed

    Your Mileage May Vary...

It'll get a little better . Wait it out and see how it performs after another 500 miles .

    This EXACTLY...Like a new young girlfriend as things get aligned and used a little it get a lot better:}

Interstate cruising to Tennessee. I even have the video my fiancé took for me to support this. But here is a screen shot.

I have driven this truck LIKE a truck, since the day I bought it. I do not baby it but I do not abuse it.
I only have 16k on the ODO.

Drive the truck man, floor it some, pull something with it etc. because that is terrible. Maybe they will recall something causing this lol

    Joe,

What is the gearing on the rear-end. A very low gear used for pulling might be part of your problem.

He shouldn't be getting that low even with 3.92, that is approaching 4.10 mileage and no truck comes stock with that.

Most come with 3.73 or my old 2010 Chevy came with a 3.42. It had terrible mileage and I had no idea how. Last one I have owned.

Have you hand calculated the mileage? The lie-o-meter doesn't tell the whole truth.

    Lol I hear ya
I use my trucks, pull with them ect. The avg fuel had me worried so I was seeing if driving real easy would make a diff! It's weird because after pulling my work trailer, I'm now getting 16 mpg avg, getting better

Yea that baby stuff was for the old days. If I drive the hemi challenger like a maw maw I get 15-15.6 avg if I drive it like a sports car I avg 16.5-17.5 depending.

Get that thing to the too gear, the sooner the better. Use the lower gears to get it moving quick and then just let it shift out. It's what I have found works best for me and mine.

    I have 3 friends with 2014 Chevy/GMC 1500 4x4 crew cabs.
Empty, no trailer, hwy driving 65-75 they are getting 19-21mpg.
Average combined they say 16-18mpg driving easy.
4 X 4 wont get better than about 16-18 after its broken in and the fuel mileage indicator gets some good data. After 2k -3k miles.

I drove to Biloxi and shot a match today, set the cruise at 71 there and 76 on the way back, my avg was 19.5 mpg! Not to bad, I feel better!
My old truck, 12 mpg tops

I'm driving a 2014 silverado v8 4x4 averaging 19 and that's about half highway half city. With ALOT of stop and go traffic. On a straight highway run, I'll do 23 easy at 75mph. It's got ~5500 miles on it now and just had oil changed yesterday. I expect a slight increase in fuel economy.
