I believe that is a mama wolf spider (maybe dark fishing spider) packing around her litter of baby spiderlings. I took a pic of one of these camped out and feeding on a full grown cockroach a few months ago. That thing had to be about 3 - 3.5" across.

Oh yeah, saw a couple of them in my house at different times too, and even bigger than 3.5" (maybe 4" or so across). These have gotten into the city (N.O.) as of a couple of years ago. Never seen them before then.

I will find that pic and post it tonight.

I made the mistake of stepping on a preggo Wolf spider once. I almost cried like a little girl. Hair spray and a lighter solved the problem. We needed new carpet anyway and the landlord even covered half of the cost. :D

    Back to the pic thread...

Here's one for Speed... this one was begging for food at a rest stop! Note how close he is to the curb, my vehicle is about a foot away.

My Dad (that's me on the left with him in the picture below from the early 50's) appropriately on this aniversary of D-Day. Dad was one of five brothers in service during WWII, was at D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge, passed away in 2010 at the age of 99. I still miss him.

(Yeah, I know it's two pictures, but the second just goes with the story)
