Bought a motorcycle from Mississippi last week and have a notarized title/bill of sale from MS. Never bought an out-of-state vehicle before and am wondering if I need to get a LA title to register it or just keep it as is and go to the dmv.

    Thanks

Go to the OMV with the paperwork you have. They will both title and register it.
You will have to pay sales tax on the amount listed on the bill of sale.

I'm assuming from the first post that you bought it from an individual, but if it was from a dealer, they should not charge you sales tax.
On a vehicle, car, truck, motorcycle, or trailer, you pay tax in the state where you register it. The rate is based on you address.

Right, I knew about the registration tax. I just didn't know if all I needed was my MS title and notarized bill of sale. I did buy it from an individual. Thanks for the responses.
