I'm in need of a pistol safe, something along the lines of one of those bedside fingerprint safes. Couple questions..

Do the fingerprint safes work well? Are some brands significantly better than others?

If not, anyone have some thoughts or recommendations on similar products?

Do safes qualify for the tax-free weekend? Anyone know somewhere around Baton Rouge that keeps a good selection of these types of safes in stock?

Thanks. Was going to ask if you knew which one he had or about how much he paid for it.

Been googling but can't find anything saying whether or not safes qualify for the tax holiday. Anyone buy a safe during the holiday before?

Do not get a fingerprint scanner safe for fast access. Maybe the upper tiered safes are more reliable, but the one I had (stack-on) was awful. Usually took 2 or 3 tries to get a good scan.

I have the gun vault deluxe now. Just four buttons and easy to feel for them in the dark. Good safe.

I don't like the fingerprint scanner safes for quick access either. Much too slow to open.
