    Bad wording. And K9s are considered officers, complete with a badge.

    Should have been: "Reid eventually lost control just west of the Belle Terre Boulevard exit on Interstate 10 in LaPlace. The car hit three pine trees before crashing near a wooded area. Reid tried to run off, but was bitten by a K-9 [NAME], McGregor said."

    Otherwise it sounds like the handler would be the biter. And I doubt the K9 guys I know would do that.

    That's what I thought too. Sounds like they're saying the dog's handler, or partner, or whatever the terminology is. I guess this is a good place to use this :dogkeke:
