I can't make this one, but I talked to Gerald this past weekend. He said they should be having it. Buzz would have to confirm, though.

I want to try this; what do I need?

Remember however, I was told to only bring 2 mag pouches to a USPSA match for my first time, and I ran dry on a stage. :redfinger:

Rifle: .223 is the most common, occasionally a .308 or some other caliber. Know what it will do out to 500 yds at least.
Shotgun: 12 ga. with preferably 8+1 capacity.
Pistol: 9mm is the most common, some .40s.

Ammo: 150 each rifle and pistol, 60-70 birdshot, 10-12 slugs, and maybe a few buckshot should be plenty for a typical match.

I would recommend having 3 magazines available for rifle and pistol with the ability to hold at least 2 on your belt. Shotgun ammo carriers (stripper clips, quad loaders, belts, armbands, or whatever else you can come up with).

Holster for pistol, slings for rifle and shotgun.

It's usually "run what ya brung" but no race guns. Look up tactical division rules at most any major 3-gun match and you'll be in the ballpark.

Otherwise, just the usual stuff you might bring to any match, snacks, drinks, sunscreen, eye/ear pro, etc.

I think that covers most of what you need.

Sorry, I forgot, he is allowing an open division now with race guns. But, you might be competing by yourself or with one other person. Most folks shoot tactical.

Just got off the phone with Gerald, he says he'll be there, so we plan to have a match. BJ can't be there.
Yes, we are allowing open guns, but as said, one puts you in open.
Know your zero, bring a sling, read the rules, see ya there. ;)

Woohoo, see y'all there. Time to kill the family of spiders living in my rifle barrel.

Donnie, your knee or wife's knee? Either way, feel better.
