If I build an AR pistol and then have a suppressor pinned to the barrel, making it a total length greater than 16.5" long, would I then have to also have another stamp to affix a stock or would it then be considered a rifle and not an SBR?

If for some reason you permanently attached a suppressor to your AR and made the overall barrel length over 16", you should be able to put a stock on it. The better question might be... why would you? I'd rather have the option of using that suppressor on other guns. Or, if you are already jumping through all the ATF hoops and spending all this money, whats the harm in another $200 to make an SBR?

If you permanently attach the suppressor to a barrel and the total length is 16 inches, you only need the stamp for the suppressor.

You would essentially be building an intergrally suppressed barrel.

First we are talking about a sound suppressor, as in silencer ? If so sounds like what you seek is a 16" barrel integrated suppressor. Remember the base of the can would have to be welded closed as well

Or extended length flash suppressor ? then pin and weld.

Yes high temperature silver solder may be used , it is not easier and is applied hot enough that it may effect heat treat of barrel, it will definitely effect finish more than a pin and weld.
