Riding a bike in the downtown Baton Rouge area ?

    Son wants me to start riding bikes with him in the downtown area and I don't know if its legal to conceal/ open carry on a bike . And if we ride the lakes at LSU are ride past a school will I be breaking the law ?

    Sure you can conceal on a bike if you have a permit. Why not? If you have a permit you can carry right up to the boundary of LSU. Some of the lakes area cross over into LSU property but not all. If you don't have a permit and are planning to open carry you run the extreme risk of getting into the 2000ft (or whatever it is exactly) firearm free zone no matter where you go. There is almost always a school within 2000ft in Baton Rouge.

    Hmm...not trying to get off topic here but you can CC in your vehicle if you drive through campus as it's an extension of your home. Theoretically you could CC on a motorcycle as well right? Wouldn't that roll over to bicycles as well since they are considered a vehicle and are "supposed" to be on the street rather than sidewalk?

    Thats what I was wondering if a bike is considered a vehicle . I carry my 45 everywhere I go in BR but im driving a SUV .
