I just got a new upper receiver in and stuck it on my RRA lower. Very very tight fit, almost had to hamer it to get it to close at the rear. Are these lowers known for being tight? I have tried it on my other lowers with easier fitment.

The lower where the pins are should measure 0.500 +/- 0.004. If you have a set of calipers you can measure and see what yiurs measures. Also you google for ar15 lower and upper spec and get detailed drawings to compair your parts to.

is that upper easy or just slightly easier on the other uppers? Sounds like you have a VERY tight possibly out of spec lower, but at the same time your upper can be out of spec and between the two of them it's giving you those headaches. Does any other upper fit on that lower without the issues? If they do not, I would call RRA and have them send you get a RMA.
