Possibly switching from a red dot currently on mine to a scope. Looking to spend around $400 or so. Shooting mainly 50-100 yards.

I'm sure you will get different opinions, but 50 to 100 yds a RDS should be fine, if you want some magnification then a 1x4 power scope like a millet DMS-1 should fill the bill. or a Burris 1x4 like is for sale with a mount in the selling area for your budget.

    Burris MTAC!!
Its a true 1-4x so you have a red dot when you want it, and some magnification when you need it. Check out SWFA.com they have a package deal on em for $400

I just want a bit more magnification to get a bit more precise. I have an Aimpoint 3x in back of my Aimpoint ML3 right now. A 4x or a bit more would be perfect for what I am doing.

Agree. Was thinking wtf? You should zero your red dot for 50-200 and run with it bro. If you want BDS, get the EOtech xps with the dual dots. At 50 to 100 scopes are NOT the answer.

I use my MTAC out to 300 yards the other day. Not to bad of a grouping considering how much I suck at shooting:ninja: Or go TAC30 if you want to save a few bucks. MTAC is the newer model

I bought an MTAC a few months ago from sport optics and I'm really happy with. The Vortex 1-4 is nice but I prefer the BDC reticle. Zeroed it at 100 yds and shot it out to 300yds and it was dead on. Haven't had a chance to shoot further than that yet but I like it so far.

Bushnell 1-4x24 illuminated reticle. It is in their AR optics class of scopes. I had Burris MTAC, and I find the Bushnell has better glass and I like the reticle better.
Neither scope that I have had has been a "true 1x". They are both a little fishy on 1x with both eyes open. I do find the Bushnell is better, but not like my Aim Point.
For the money I am very please with the Bushnell. It was $259 with the one piece mount, from SWFA.
