I heard that the St Charles Sheriffs Office will start to allow the general public to use the St Charles Sheriffs Office range to shoot handguns only starting in March. I will try to find out more this could be a good thing.

Any access to any place that allows for the public to shoot is a GREAT thing! I hope it is true.

But you know what! It f'n should be anyway! We pay for that too!

    Looks like very limited dates:
    March 3rd and 17th
    April 7th and 21st
    May 5th and 19th
Anyone wishing to use the range will be required to attend a one time safety briefing which will be held at the range stating at 8am on range days. The briefing will last about 30min.
Bring your own targets, safety glasses, hearing protection, baseball type cap, ammo and proper ID.
No one under 18 will be allowed to fire any hangguns.

I know most people wont like all the rules but I feel that its a start and may get better in time. It also sounds like there wont be a charge.

ETA: thatguy feel free to add anything I missed.

All correct. Additionally, all weapons are to be transported to the range in suitable transportation device,ie gun box or holster. No weapons to be brought in a loaded condition and they must be left in the vehicle until the safety briefing is complete. All shooters must wear a holster while on the range. Further questions contact Ted Adams at 504-201-5222.
