I've seen a few SKS stocks with names and various designs carved into them by soldiers in the field and whatnot. My yugo stock is clean, but i wouldn't mind one bit having some carved ones... anyway...

With all of you guys i figured there will be some cool ones in the BS community, and though it would make for a good pic thread.

Lets see some old gnarly stocks, I'd enjoy seeing what y'all got... not in any way limited to the SKS..

Battlefield art carved into stocks can be as simple as a name or as complex as bas relief. Usually it's just crude cuts that spell out a name or word. I don't own any b/c I eschew them. Also I don't name my guns or burn those names into them in unobtrusive areas either.

yeah, i would never ruin my own rifle by defacing it.... but for some reason its way cooler when it was done by some commie back in the day

I don't have a Yugo SKS, but here is a Yugo M48's that I picked up back in 2009.
It is all matching, shows a little use and has some cool art work on it.

Yeah that's a lot better than most of the wanna be wood carvers did. Usually it's a name cut into with a bayonet.

I doubt there is any significance to these markings other than a soldier's boredom. This sks and a tok were brought back from Vietnam in the late 60's. I acquired them from the estate of the vet not far from Ft Campbell a couple years back.
