14 rds is the standard capacity. You may be able to buy larger,extended. mags.

What year was it made? I heard some bad things about the older sigmas.

Not sure when this one was made but it is one of the enhanced pistols so it isn't any older than 2004. This is the version where smith corrected the reliability problems of the early sigmas. The gun runs like a top. You can google several review of the pistol. Just look for sw40ve reviews. The pistol really isn't even called a Sigma anymore but the name has stuck.

I have read some reviews. This is not the horrible early models. It has mixed reviews, only because some people dont like the trigger. However, it is heavy because there is not a safety.
