    as i recall the spitfire was a English fighter in ww2 days . one of the best for it's day .

    That is correct. Right up there with the p51. Fine example of one hanging in ww2 museum with a very cool story. Sorry version, pilot was at opening of museum and told them "I flew that plane". They said "you flew spitfire?" his reply was "no, I flew that spitfire, that's my tail number". So they got his story and painted his name on the side

    The early Spits weren’t all that great until the Brits recovered an intact Me 109E-4 with its direct fuel injection. They found out why the German Me 109s could role and dive without sputtering out. The Brits wear using Carbs on their engine.
