St. Mary Parish SO Range Report.

When did you go? We went out there Saturday morning and they were closed. I wonder if it was because of the holidays or if they decided to close on saturdays. I brought my own steel too for out .22s and he didnt have a problem

i think i went the weekend right after rabbit season closed. it was cold! he did say that the range would be closed on weekends till next hunting season(i think).

I heard the same thing about being closed after deer season, but they continued to stay open. Took me by surprise when I showed up to locked gates. New Iberias range isnt open as many days but the hours did get better.

Yea the range is only open on week days during working hours, I inquired about the weekends he said closer to hunting season they may start opening again on Saturdays...

So I attempted to go to the Franklin range this morning. I called the number of the sheriff's office to make sure they were open, but the woman on the other end was lass than helpful.

Me: Hi, is your range open today?
Woman: Uh. I don't see why it wouldn't be.
Me: Do you know what the address is?
Woman: Sure don't.

Great. So i just followed the directions above and navigated my way there around 12:30, only to arrive just as Troy was closing the gate. Guess he doesn't like to hang around on Fridays.

Will try again next week.

I live in Franklin. I go to that range a few times a month. Great place!!!
