Every April, and I mean every April, our daughter has managed to injure herself. Shoulder, wrist, collarbone... She's had more x-rays than a kidlet needs in the last five years.

A week ago her father and I did the happy hamster dance. No injuries this year!!! Obviously we pissed off the karma gods.

Today during class, a torc'd knee, dislocated patella, physical therapy and hopefully with rehab, no surgery.

April didn't end soon enough.

Last year my g/f almost made it an entire year without an ER visit...until Dec 18 or so and she needed Carpel Tunnel surgery and all night in the hospital.

CMP??? Chondromalacia patella??? Strengthen the VMO.

Don't know Charles. He lost me a couple times. It's Dr Mike Brunet sr. I think he was an ortho on staff at LSU or Nichols way back. I knew he knows what he's talking about so I just nodded when I had a confused moment. It's a wait and see situation even if I peppered him with questions.

He said there is blood under the cap. MRI is unnecessary because the course of recommended action is the same regardless results. He'll be able to determine better what it is in a week. She twisted going around a tight corner/coming out of the classroom, and her kneecap slide out of place and popped back in. Ice 3x daily, a mechanical brace, the kind with knobs on each side, and no PE for the rest of the year. X-rays showed *maybe* a little chip knocked offbut the second X-ray he decided maybe not.

He told her to tighten and release her upper thigh muscles every time she thinks about it. More to come next Wednesday. What's a VMO?
Surgery is a 50/50 even with PT. Wish we lived in Gonzales! ;)
