Ok folks just wanted to get some information out there in this community. I have learned a lot from this site and met some great guys on here in the shooting sports. This thread is merely to give out information. I am this years coordinator for the Baton Rouge area and am looking to do as much as possible for this community this year. I have absolutely fell in love with this town and the people in the area and look forward to doing whatever I can this year to give back to it. This program is extraordinary at the least. It has a 97:3 ratio that almost all charities can't come close to and all donations STAY LOCAL! It is the only DOD charity and the local Marines work extremely hard to provide a Christmas to those who can't do it alone.

I have just taken this extra duty for the first time so if we start communicating about either an event or need of information, please try to be understanding that I also have my everyday duties to preform and am still learning this. The local website is still under construction and should be 100% updated by the end of next week as far as all current drop sites and events. A very special thank you to Bayou Shooter for allowing this post and to all the mods who took their time to ask. Semper Fidelis!

Home page for Baton Rouge's site and has all registration information. Please pass along if you know anyone who may need some help this year. The Salvation Army also does a re-registration every Friday for those who miss it during the initial. I know that Hurricane Issac wasn't the devistation that Katrina brought, but some have felt worse than others and times were tough enough already, please pass this along.

The donation page. Please understand that if you make a donation, ALL DONATIONS STAY LOCAL. This is very important. There is also a newer feature that allows someone to donate in memory of or tribute to. Very cool and am going to do it myself for a couple friends I lost that worked with me on the program in the past.

Drop site request. If you own, run, manage, or just want to set something up where you work to be a drop site. This is the request page. Email notification gets sent to me instantly for these.

And finally to host or set-up an event. Please keep the requests tasteful and understand that this is a childrens charity. LOL I can't do strip club events, and my request to do Twin Peaks was shunned upon.

For those who are not in the Baton Rouge area and would still like information. Just look up your area.

You should envy me. LOL. It's still September an my email box is blowing up. I've already made one huge mistake, left my personal cell phone listed in my signature block to reply to a few emails. Now that's blowing up too.
