So, I need to haul about 5,000 pounds Friday.
I would rather a box, but a cargo would work.

U haul only goes up to 3,500

    Budget is trucks

Hertz is perfect, they take up to 7,000 pounds, under $200 for a week....

Annnnnd the choices for the trailors are Mobile or St Louis.

I really don't want to go to mobile to pick it up, and then drop it off.

    Ideas?

    Edit:
Oh, yes, need to be able to handle a pallet jack for loading (ramp)

Have you tried any local equipment rental places? I know Gator rental in Houma has dump trailers, but a local rental place may have a car hauler that would fit your needs.

I need to move pallets of ammo. If I do a car hauler I'll have to stack each case by hand.

Not looking forward to that idea. It's worth something for me to be able to use a palletjack.
(hell, I'm going to BUY a pallet jack!)

General rental has a trailer which will take 10k pounds, but the ramps are for wheels....

Thib's said the only one they have that will do it is rented for the next month.

Everybody let's get together and heist of all of Nomad's ammo when he attempts to move it across country. ;)

Look on craigslist for rentals http://neworleans.craigslist.org/grd/4446909755.html

    http://lafayette.craigslist.org/hvo/4420565995.html

    http://lafayette.craigslist.org/hvo/4372214518.html Prob best one

Also you could probably buy a trailer (second hand they are pretty cheap), sell it later if you had to.

    All?

    I'm just moving the 5.45!:p

Think I have a solution. "Gun nut network" strikes again.

As for "best one"... At $200/day.... 4 days.... I think NOT!

So you want to drag a pallet jack up a ramp? Not going to be easy to do or even find a trailer that is capable of it for rent at any price much less cheap. It kind of limits your choice to a box trailer in the 16' + range and depending on the pallet weight, it still will not be easy and the pallet jack wheels will punch thru the ramp probably. O dont know anywhere that rents box trailers, but a lot of places rents open utility trailers starting around $50/day and up.
If you want to borrow a 16' tandem axle, hit me up.

The uhaul 3500 lb trailer will definitely hold 5000lbs. I looked under the one I rented and it had two 3000lb axles underneath it. As long as your truck can pull it then you're good to go.

    Thank you, how's the ramp!?!:D

I don't want to drag anything up... I can get a forklift for that.
I want to drag it DOWN the ramp.
And I'll be alone. Just me and gravity.

I have had no luck finding a box or cargo trailor that can handle 5k, and has a ramp I can use a pallet jack on.
    And I've looked.

    Pallets are 1k lbs each.

Says "nearly 2,500 for the 6x12 box, and "more than 2,000" for the cargo.

    Dont see a 3500 option....
