I will be traveling to Los Angeles, California for a 1 week trip in a few weeks; I usually drive but then again I usually drive when I'm in california for longer than 2 weeks. This time I'll be flying because its such a short trip. My question is, would you bother/is it worth it bringing your firearm with you? Its only a week and I'll be with family. Will be staying in a resort 1 mile away from disneyland. And yes, i know.... 10 round mags or less...:(

NOPE! not even about just mags, they have approved guns etc.... Also you will have to make yourself familiar with their laws on carry/storage. In a case, ammo separate etc.

Hate to say it, but NO.
Their laws and regulations are so backwards that I'd rather be unarmed than sorry.
    And that's sad.

Add on to that, I regularly fly to Alaska and often with NFA items.
I will purposefully take longer and less convenient flights (and pay more) so the plane I am flying in goes nowhere near California.
This is in case the plane has to be diverted in-flight and winds up in California.
Heard horror stories about this happening.
Pity, California is some beautiful country.
Was stationed there in the Army before it became Socialist.

Pretty sure your chp is not valid there. Should have gone to Disneyland in Florida instead!

You can't carry there, so why are you asking?

You cannot carry there, and it has to be an approved firearm and locked up most of the time. Definitely not worth the trouble for your purpose. A quick google shows that there are gun ranges in Los Angeles, and they rent guns, so if you want to take them shooting, go that route.

Thats actually a pretty dang good reason to bring one, right thar. The more education those folks get, the better. For all of us. I change my vote.

Pick up a cricket, or an inexpesive .22 revolver, or... something that isn't pushing the limits of the horrible california laws. Also that won't freak the relatives out. Keep in mind they've been indoctrinated about the evils of firearms.

Actually, I'd bring an airsoft pistol and let them have fun with that first, inside, so the neighbors won't freak. Let them knock over cans, etc.
