Reevaluate myself? Coming from a guy recommending civilians to carry LR in their home first aid kits to use directly on casualties where their baseline vitals have not been recorded not has an immediate and complete, reoccurring assessment been performed?

Get real man. Quit living in a fantasy world. I stand firm by what I've said regarding this issue.

Check yourself fool. I recommended that people have it if they are prepping and have the skills. Reread the thread.

    It's not a "fantasy world."

    Good. Stand "firm."

Actually the day after Katrina, myself and three friends were escorted by LSP and WLF to the heart of New Orleans rescuing civilians and providing aid on our own dollar. I wasn't still in highschool.

Research the grey rescue effort by about 100 boats leaving from The Mall of Acadiana in Lafayette Louisiana.

    Good for you. And I was finishing up my 1st tour in Baghdad, Iraq, en route to New Orleans to clean up the mess. (-;

My friends in the 82nd airborne cleaned up the mess. If I recall correctly the 256th 2/156th was guarding the superdome, and running roadblocks.

Wrong. 256th IBCT didn't get back until the week prior to Rita. Check your timeline. I oughta know, it took me 3 weeks to demobilize @ Ft. Polk. 1-156 Armor here bro. (Shreveport). TF Geronimo. -You might've heard of us.

But your friends cleaned up the mess, eh?!? Nevermind the year that I spent on Task Force Gator, right?!?. *snicker*

My brother, (literally... not figuratively), was down in N.O. shortly thereafter. 82nd Alumn.

Well, I've just had a good talk with Ben Hippler, an infantryman with 2/156, and he confirmed everything I've just said, and said that the men from the NG were voluntarily asked by the governor the week of their return for roadblock and security detail.

Quit with the snickering, it's not cute and detracts from your validity. Talk to me like a grown man. Once again, no the regular army and all active duty personnel are not after your guns, or your freedoms. Rest easy folks.

I'm actually completely disgusted by your professionalism (or lack therof) in this entire thread. I can understand why you've had issues with other SME in this forum. You lack professionalism.

You know damned good and well that we aren't teaming up with the UN for disarmament of the populace.

Another BS thread that is getting no where.
I think its clear that there are those who are willing to disarm, even fire on, US civies. While I still feel they are not the majority, we are still dealing with the disarmament from Katrina here. That even has left a very bad taste and is still worrisome.

I too helped in the rescues and security, many of us did.

Facts - there are those who want the general population disarmed (they either hate the Constitution or firearms) and there are those who would be willing to carry out such actions. Those are the facts. Just be ready fro when it happens.

None of those links refute what I said.

The UN in it's peacekeeping role has not disarmed anyone.

They have threatened to do so for decades and never done so.

Chavez had the support of the UN but not it's assistance.

I thought my point was plain.

We, here in America do not have to fear UN peacekeepers.

We have our own Chavez wannabe and that's where the focus needs to be.

Woah, woah! Slow your roll there hoss! You have to understand where all of these people are coming from. There are a lot of NOLA-Natives who DID have their Rights crapped on post Hurricane Katrina who are naturally distrustful of anyone in a military uniform. Yes, I know that most of the military wouldn't dare act like that, but you have to understand that it's not entirely impossible.

And those of us who were actually there in New Orleans know that there were not as many confiscations as the media wants you to believe.
And I've described in minute detail a lot of what went down.
But you guys don't want to believe anybody who was actually there.

What these videos show me is that there are some cops who are not only willing, but chomping at the bit for martial law.
But they are in the minority and we have know they are out there.

What those videos don't show are the hundreds of police officers that refused to seize weapons.

You know damned sure and well you not I nor our brothers will be doing this.QUOTE]

Seriously? There were WHOLE FREAK'N LA ARNG Units doing this in 2005! It was an ILLEGAL ORDER BY THE THEN-GOVERNOR OF LOUISIANA.

Oh my God.... Where were you people when this was going on?!? Didn't you hear that it happened, or were you stuck getting your news source(s) from a "legitimate news source"?

Just because some Scooter Brown has a fancy HD camera, knows how to post "news reports" to youtube or type a blog doesn't mean it is actual news. How can you be sure it was properly vetted? Major news sources might be (ok they are) heavily weighted to the left, but I would still pay attention to them rather than some two but Bubba Gump operating out of his mom's basement.

I, too, was down in New Orleans in the days immediately after Katrina. Not working for LEO or military but rather for the state health dept. And I can tell you this: there were ALOT of urban legends, myths, rumors, and out right lies about different things that were or were not happening!

I'm faced with a certain bit of confusion. Blake here claims have been actively working in the city when the unconstitutional order was given. If the confiscations were wide spread and the majority of law keepers and military actually attempted to follow that order, surely he would've participated or witnessed these things. But if he witnessed these things and didn't do anything, wouldn't that make him one of the complacent sheeple everyone keeps complaining about?

The reality is, either confiscations were not wide spread, blake witnessed/participated, or blake was hanging out at a roadblock. Given the fact that I was here and have been here since 2000 and I don't know of a single person who had a gun taken, I'm going for the first option. Quit acting like a douche blake.
