My apologies to the mods if this topic is not permitted here.

That said I think this is something that affects us all and which we can and should care about. The very likely executive order granting unilateral amnesty to illegal aliens. He can by executive order, issue a pardon for any illegal acts (think Nixon's pardon) they have committed related to breaking immigration laws and at the same time basically grant citizen ship (think Cuban boat people) assuming the people want it.

When President Obama issues executive orders on immigration in coming weeks, pro-reform activists are expecting something dramatic: temporary relief from deportation and work authorization for perhaps several million undocumented immigrants. If the activists are right, the sweeping move would upend a contentious policy fight and carry broad political consequences.

This is what Obama said during his meeting with House Reprsentative Gutiérrez earlier.

Days after telling La Raza convention attendees that he is confident President Obama will use executive action to give legal status to millions of immigrants in the United States illegally, Representative Luis Gutiérrez (D., Ill.) predicted that the administration could legalize as many as 5 million people.

Appearing on Morning Joe on Friday, Gutiérrez said he will meet with White House officials later in the day *to negotiate additional terms and avenues the president can use* through executive action.

*I think we can get 3 or 4, maybe even 5 million people,* he said.

This what you can do if you want to do so to try and stop such action by the POTUS.

Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) is putting a call out to the American people: He needs help to kill President Barack Obama’s plans to grant executive amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.
Sessions wants Americans to melt Congress’ phone lines, demanding their members make a precondition of any border crisis bill that Obama’s executive order amnesty via the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and any future plans be stopped.
*The American people have begged and pleaded for years for our laws to be enforced,* Sessions said in his statement. *We have people in our own country living in violence, fear and poverty every single day. They have demanded an immigration policy that puts their jobs, wages and communities first. Every citizen should pick up the phone and ask of their congressional representative: where do you stand?*

For the record I have nothing against immigrants and as long as they follow the laws I welcome them. In fact we do need a steady stream of new citizens with a desire and motivation to work and follow the American dream However the current "dreamers" are a distortion of the very concept of an American Dream.

Finally strongly consider going out and campaigning for anyone except Landrieu in Nov 2014.

America is a strong republic. However, since it is a republic it is the job of the citizens to ensure that the representatives we have elected honor the laws. A republic is only as good as its citizens who maintain it.

I think to be President of the US...One must be a superb politician. They must be able to use the office to get legislation done. They must also be very experienced to be effective in using the office.

Obama is in over his head. And I do agree with the article...he appears to have somewhat checked out.

He lacked the experience of a veteran politician. Many of our most successful presidents were veteran politicians.

Forget about whether or not you liked their politics. The keys is their ability to get things done. FDR, LBJ, Nixon, Reagan and Clinton all were very experienced politicians. They understood Congress and the Senate and knew how to strongarm in order to get things done.

Obama just doesn't have the convictions necessary nor the experience needed for the office...IMO.

If he does it, that is 5 million potential votes for democrats in the upcoming fall elections - how convenient for those like Landrieu who are fighting to keep their liberal seats in the legislature

Is it citizenship or just deportation/work authorization relief?

Under the US Constitution the POTUS has unrestricted power to pardon, commute a sentence, void a fine or otherwise in this case issue a general amnesty for any crimes committed by aliens crossing the border. This could be done for an individual, group or even 5 million people.

He could by presidential fiat then order that these people who have been pardoned are now no longer eligible for deportation if they do not want to go.

He could NOT make then citizens unless they applied for and accepted citizenship They would then have to take the oath that new citizens are required to take.

That said with the exception of citizenship he could by fiat make them legal residents with full rights and benefits thereof Not a perfect amnesty but 99% there.

More on the issue. The motivation behind this is this is harass anti-Obama congressmen prior to the November 2014 election.

Any such move would prompt a major clash with congressional Republicans, and at least some White House officials appeared to relish the prospect that the GOP might overreach in its response and act in a politically self-destructive manner.

When the decision is announced, it will "increase the angry reactions from Republicans," Pfeiffer said.

You have to read the UK and Canadian press to get the real story:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...panied-minors-Border-Security-facilities.html

Members of some of the United States' most notorious street gangs have infiltrated shelters housing illegal immigrant minors from Central America and are recruiting them, say Homeland Security sources.
An estimated 57,000 minors from Central America have flooded across the border from Mexico to the U.S. in recent months, and gang leaders are reportedly filling their ranks from among them.
Transnational gangs such as the Mara Salvatruca, also known as MS-13, and the 18th Street gang are using established juvenile members from Central America to cross the border and recruit other children to the cartels, say sources.

    The sad truth.

I read a lot of news online like most of us.

True journalism stands out very quickly. You read it and understand that this is news.
You're left with the facts and if you were asked what the writer thought about the issue, you wouldn't know.
    that's how it should be.

Most American MSM sites, could dwindle down their 8 paragraph articles to a mere 300 words
and be done with relaying the news. But instead they add in 1200 words of slander, smartassery,
side bar comments, buzzwords and all sorts of other trash to sift through.

While reading it, you're being pushed from behind in the direction they want
right up to the last sentence. As if you were reading a book.
The End is where they were leading you the whole time. That's not news.
There is no 'We report, you decide' in any US media that I've seen.

Vice News went from really close, to banana's in the last 3 weeks.
Their ridiculous coverage and use of buzzwords about the Israeli/Hamas conflict is sickening.
Their Facebook page is even worse.

Their silence on this particular issue of immigration is puzzling as well.
The only thing close to immigration they covered was about Business Owners
hiring Illegals in the North East.

What escapes so many in this country is the mindset of "No!" So nothing gets resolved. Outrage is not the same as saying "No!"

Try these questions asked to any sane clear thinking American taxpayer.

Do you want as many as 5 million immigrants that entered the country illegally to be given citizenship by decree?
Do you want 3.7 Billion dollars of your paid taxes given to an effort to house and take care of illegal immigrants?
Do you want the estimated 12 million illegals immigrants to be granted amnesty just because they were able to infiltrate the country's borders?
Do you want the treasury to give 12 million people instant access to free health care, and other entitlement programs?

See, no sane clear thinking American wants any of that. But watered down and filtered as if this is a great idea of the pretender, or an adopted agenda by the PL's, or pushed by the corrupt media, makes them sheep and shills for the party. They cannot simply say, "No!" That's what they want, but because they are slaves to their chosen party's agenda by inclusion, they go along. Sure, some are outraged, but that's not a "No!"

Ask yourselves; how can educated individuals not understand this is not a good thing for themselves, their families, their country, etc.?

First White House In History Trying To Start Narrative Of Impeachment - Rep. Scalise

Also points out that SCOTUS voted 9-0 that Obama overreached.
Doing so again with an EO for Amnesty would ignite a firestorm.

I remember the Nixon impeachment as well as the Clinton impeachment. Nixon was the real thing and Clinton was politics and felt very different.

We have a POTUS basically begging to be impeached for political reasons.

With Nixon they B&E and conspiracy. With Clinton a case of perjury. I am not sure to date there is a good case for impeachment. With Obama we have the imperial POTUS to which Nixon aspired.

However here is the what the "progressive" left will say. They have the talking points already drafted.

They are using it to raise money.

They are claiming it is the racist GOP wanting to impeach the POTUS:

Just throwing it out there without the beautiful footnotes and tie-ins like the rest of y'all, but I think it would be Obie's ultimate fantasy to see the country blow up in a full fledged race war upon the announcement of his impending impeachment.

Won't be no such thing as a Race War.

He's just a liberal at heart raised by Socialist mentors and parents.
He's now in power to put forth those ideologies and is doing so regardless
of what anyone seems to think.

    Contrary to popular belief.

CONGRESS HAS THE POWER! to Stop a rogue President if they deem him such.

They could end any presidency within days if they (wanted to).

I agree a race war is neither the end result nor the desired goal for a lot of reasons including turning off the money and free stuff faucet.

You are likewise correct in that Congress acting within its authority to check executive power is the answer. They can defund his plans like cutting the IRS budget and not authorizing the wasteful spending of $3.7 billion on border silliness.

What the people can do as my original post pointed is flood the Congress with notice that amnesty will not go down well for anyone or party involved it.

Call or write the Speaker of the House - http://www.speaker.gov/
    President pro-temp of the Senate - http://www.leahy.senate.gov/
    White House - http://www.whitehouse.gov/

No point calling Landrieu since she will vote for whatever Obama wants as she has always done- remember this in November 2014.

Tell them your opinion on the announced amnesty by presidential fiat.
