Unusual question....

So I was on an extended stay in the bahamas recently. I was using the resort wifi, and I couldn't log into BayouShooter. It said that my IP was banned? Got back to the mainland and it of course, works fine.

What's up with that? Or is anyone even aware?

Temporary ban on your ass for not taking us. Now that your back it was lifted. j/k not sure.

At the apartment I had in BR the IP was banned from the image hosting site, I just PM'd Spanky and he hooked me up.

If I had to guess I would say some spammer previously used the resorts wifi to post on here.

On my older forums I would do what was then known as a "blanket-ban" of areas that were known for having spammers. I didn't really need the extra people on the site, and if people ever had a problem they could email me and I could add their email or username to a white-list. I presume that something similar happened here where either a pre-made list of IPs were banned, or some spammer in that area was being stupid and the admins here just set up a larger radius ban around the IP.

I figured it was just like you described Austin....It's the first time i've ran into that issue. Well aside from netflix and HBO on demand not working outside of the US.
