    All,

I know NOTHING about FALs, and have the opportunity to buy a used, but in excellent condition Century FAL for $300. From what I've read, they aren't very well regarded. Can anyone tell me what the general value of these rifles are and what I might be able to get for it if I chose to resell?

I realize that I have left out a lot of information (metric or standard/ receiver type. etc) but that's because I don't have it. The rifle is from an elderly man and is selling off a lot of his rifles, so I don't know that I can get much more info. Without this information, is this too much of a risk to know what I might be getting?

I'd snap it up in a Heart beat even century FAL's sell for 600-650$. If it doesn't run right it can be made to run right usually very easily, there are several members on here including myself who would be willing to help. PM me his phone number I'll help him with his problem!!!:D:D:D:D

I'd run over Grandma to get at a 300$ FAL!

Mine is a century fal. I did have some problems at first but, after having the headspace set, it works fine. Just check the barrel for wear. Triton helped me change mine for the one in my parts kit.
They are a mix of metric and inch parts. Most importantly, it uses the readily available metric mags.
