I braved the crowd this morning at Wal-Mart in Covington. there really was no one in there around 6 am, I suppose all the deals were scooped up Thursday night so everyone skipped Wal-Mart this morning. I'm glad they did. Part of their manager's specials was 20% off most rifles and shotguns. Not good on air guns, bb guns, airsoft, modern sporting rifles and home defense shotguns.
I picked up a sweet deal on a Mossberg Maverick 88 20 gauge that I've been looking at since July, $159.99 before tax. They had some Cricket .22lr rifles that came to less than $90 after the discount. If they don't have what you are looking for ask them to check other stores. There was a young girl working the counter named Emma that checked some other locations for me. She's usually at the counter around 7am. If you ask her nicely, she'll look up who has the elusive Ruger 10/22. I was considering driving t go get another on just because they were so cheap after the discount but decided I would leave it for others on the hunt. The stainless barrel was just over $200 if I remember right and the regular carbine model was around $180.
the 20% discount is good through 10pm on December 1, so get in there quickly.
