Warning sign I saw tonight.

My girlfriend a I were at a Brookshires grocery store tonight and I saw this sign posted in the alcohol section. I was my understanding it was ok to carry in grocery stores?

I thought the law referred to a place where alcohol was sold in open containers for immediate consumption.

That sign (to the best of my knowledge) is complete BS. It's just like those signs you see on knife cases that say it's illegal to carry a knife with a blade longer than 3" concealed.

I'm not sure where they come up with these signs, but they're BS.

Even then, I think it's just a 6 months/$500 fine thing, not 10 years.

They'd have to have a class A general liquor license for that to be true, iirc.

We went thru this months ago on here with those stores. Within hours the sign came down after phone calls and emails.

I don't remember who it was in North LA. that posted it back then

Yes, that sign is crap.

Here is the real thing from TX, called a 30.06 sign, which must be in English and Spanish and displayed in a prominent place at an entrance such that it is easily seen:
