What is the best Remington 700 barrel length in .308

Looking to replace my Remington 700 barrel and thinking of going with 22" varmint contour . What would be the best length for a complete powder burn and best velocity . Rifle will be used for target shooting and some hunting up to 200 yds - 300yds max.

What caliber? Are you wanting an aftermarket (krieger, bartlien, hart) or just replacing with a remington barrel?

Debating between .308 or 300wsm , .308 more than likely . Not sure what barrel manufacture yet .

I would suggest a krieger barrel. If you are not going to be packing it around hunting, I would go heavy. A minimum of the varmint contour. For shooting out to only 300, you can take your pick of barrel lengths. All things considered, 300 yds is a chip shoot for either caliber.
