I picked up several guns today that were owned by a relative that passed on. I found several "stamps" in the gun but no brand name.

they usually just have a stamp indicating the factory it was made.

there were no brands in soviet russia. :p

unless you consider a govt owned industry a brand.

    I love my Nagant :)

I adore the Nagant my BF has. It's not only an amazing piece of history, but it's a really pretty gun and a lot of fun to shoot. I'm often tempted to buy one for myself.

Depending on the year on yours, it may have participated in a revolution or a world war. That's an impressive history, and should be preserved. Just because it isn't worth much now doesn't mean that it won't become worth more as they become less common.

Anyone here remember Steinberg's in downtown BR? They use to have a barrel full of old rifles like that for $8 a each. Hell, before the gun ban, they were advertised in Shotgun News for about $25.

    I looooove that movie.

And wholeheartedly agree with you. Besides, the women snipers of the Red Army were using the same gun. If they can do it, so can anyone - with enough practice.
