I have not been since I was a kid and it was in the Rivergate. My dad's boss at the time had a Cheetah fiberglass bodied funny car so we would go to the WoW. I don't know if any of y'all remember Cheetah's but they were a stylish US built car. The Cheetah was meant to be Cobra-killer. They were pretty rare.

I may go this time due to having friends with cars in it.

If you do go there will be a trio of Chevy Convertibles that are perfect. They are a 55, 56 and 57 done by Rickey Combel of Rick's Auto Collison Center in Harvey. These cars are phenomenal. Rickey definitely put a lot into cars.

I also saw two Mustangs he has that are top notch. He also has his dad's truck that is ridiculously nice. I don't think these will be there but they really impressed me.

If any of you go don't miss the Chevys.

But maybe I'm biased since it was mine. From a few years ago in the convention center.

The dome just don't have the same feel as the Rivergate shows did .:(

friend with Model T's just said that the other night.

You know the Rivergate was built over a tunnel:

I agree that the Rivergate was a mulch better venue than the Dome. I had a car in the WOW back in 1987 and 1988 and later went with friends when it went to the Dome. The Dome is just too big and open and I preferred the lighting in the Rivergate much better.

The "T" friend mentioned the lighting.

Lighting is a MAJOR deal in the car show circuits. Flourescents are tough on cars as it can change the hue of the color and for some reason its easier to pick flaws in the paint. I honestly don't remember the type in the RG but it just seemed to bring out the colors better in there and easy on the eyes when looking into the paint and along the bodies. It killed me when they tore it down for the damn casino. Progress?? Nah, just another screw up in NOLA.
Dust Off, which shop was that??

Fellas, hate to break it to y'all, but it hasn't been in the rivergate in like 20 years. :p

There's something cool about being at the dome. But also weird.

A few years back they had to move it to the convention center due to some dome conflict, which I liked better.

You young whipper snappers might want to look up and see what a '57 Chevy is while y'all are at it. They had this thing called a carb and it used gas with lead in it.

I remember this one car at WoW named Scorpion had a scorpion in a clear terrarium on display. That was some pretty wild stuff back in the 70's . . .

It was one of these . . .

It is not that my memory is failing, it was a long time ago, I was just a kid and in my defense may have been pretty drunk at the time . . .
