Buy a Saiga. On sale at classic arms. You can convert it and do whatever you want with if, for cheap. Plus it is black.

He can always just buy black furniture and change it himself (for around 100 bucks for a good stock set). That might make his search easier, because it seems that more AKs come with wood instead of polymer furniture.
