Don't mean to hijack the thread but...... It doesn't matter how he arrived at HIS price. It's what he feels it's worth. Nice Makarov by the way.

He has the right to pull prices out of his.....um......hat like everyone else here. If you think his price is too high and you know where to find cheap E. German Maks please post up.
The E. German Makarovs are very nice. This and the recent price on CZ-82s almost make it worth it to me to invest in a bunch of 9X18 ammo.

I arrived at my price by seaching comparable sales. Again, this is German manufacture (from one of the first batches imported in the early '90s) and the polish and blue are commercial quality. Back then, I expected that Russians, when finally imported would be more desireable, but that didn't bear out.

Thanks for the interest. Those of you who sent PMs will get replies shortly.

For those who asked, the date code (according to the chart at makarov.com) indicates it was made in 1962.

A true Russian from behind the Red Curtain might be worth more but the commercial Russian imports aren't as good as the EGs. For a while the Red Star grips were hard to get but I dunno about now.
