yugo ak question

Anyone know if there's a difference between the yugo underfolders sold on classicarms.us and the one fould on aimsurplus, http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F1CM70AB2T&groupid=11? The aim surplus site says the receiver is 1mm. I thought they were supposed to be 1.5mm. I was waiting for classic to get some back in stock but aim has them for the same price minus the cleaning rod.

There is no difference. The one pictured on Aim's website has the bulged trunnion and all Yugo's with a bulged front trunnion have a 1.5mm receiver. There were a small number of Yugo's built with a 1mm receiver and I have only seen them as kits. Apex has a few.

yeah those are century guns, DCI receivers, built and finished well.

Make sure you check the sights and their alignment. Last several (say 8 or so) Century AK's I picked up and fondled have ALL had their rear sights canted. I started noticing these at the last two gunshows in Kenner. ALL were Century marked.

Freaked the guys at Jefferson Indoor out the other day with the one they had on display behind the counter. They thought I was totally BSing them until we took it down and examined it. Then they took two more from the back, same thing.

My century 74 has the front sight canted as well. Not bad enough to go through the hassel of sending it back. But my sight post is pretty far to one side.

I would not recomend century to someone I dont like.

I bought a Century Yugo M70 underfolder about 2 years ago at the Houston gun show. It is perfect. Sights are perfectly aligned. Must have got a good one, I won't be selling it any time soon. Seems rare to have one that the sights line up. Very mild recoil. All the Grandkids and women in the family enjoy shooting it even with the metal butt stock. Just my 2 cents.
