Was there 2 yrs ago for Celtic women don't remember any detectors or anything like that .
I can tell you this , if you have an ankle holster I highly recommend using it . The seats are small.
I've been there 4 times in the last 6-8 months. To answer your question, it depends on what you're going there to see. For instance, when I went to see Alice in Chains in concert, they had security with wands scanning everyone who entered and security checking all purses. On the other end of the spectrum, when my girl and I went to see a play there, there was little to no security at all. No detectors, no giant men with wands, and they only checked purses to make sure you weren't bringing your own alcohol in so they could charge you $19 for a double bourbon...
Rock shows: Medium security with wands scanning every person.
Comedy show: Dudes with wands who only scan about 1/4 of people entering.
Play: Walk right on in if you don't carry a purse.
Unfortunately, you probably won't truly know what they are doing for that particular event until you walk up to the doors (or line to enter if it's crowded). Get there early in case you need to walk back to your vehicle and empty any pockets or whatnot. That's the best advice I can offer. Hope that helps.
Oh, and Brandon is right, the seats are fairly small. I'm not a big guy (unless you count my gut) and I find the seats small. However, they are bigger than my seats up in the nosebleeds of the Superdome!
Also, I do not recall ever seeing any posted signs. But don't quote me on that...
I was there yesterday for a normal broadway show. Only purses were searched. I didn't see any signs but I wasn't looking since I was not carrying. I have been before and they were searching so I didn't want to carry and have to leave it in my ride.
I went to a cody jinks concert and the front they had wands scanning the top half of most guys, side doors, no scanning anyone..
an ankle holster would have worked both sets of doors.. I was in a floor seat.. very comfortable.
