Ah, gotcha. My experience with LE when things are stolen and a car is broken into occured in Texas. It was so common near the border that they really didn't care, or do much about it. Just wrote down that it happened. That is probably part of why I feel the way I do about all the people that think calling 911 does much more than create a paper trail for use in court later.

To me, it all depends on the situation if I decide to attempt to pull prints for a vehicle burglary. I always speak with the victim about it though. It depends on the surface and cleanliness of said surface. If you walk up to any car in a parking lot (unless it's been washed in the last hour) and tell whether someone was wearing gloves, a towel, or just bare skin just by the smudges left in the dust on the vehicle. If you can look at a vehicle, and see that said person wore shooting style gloves, then there is no reason to attempt to pull prints. I speak with every victim before printing anything inside of their vehicle. I don't know of you have ever delt with fingerprint dust, but that **** gets everywhere, and is impossible to clean it all up.
