I've had it. I know, I know the NRA does a lot to help gun owners but I am SICK AND TIRED OF GETTING PANDERED FOR MONEY every few days!!! Give it a rest!

I give and a week later, they want more. My mailbox is constantly filled with begging notices for more, more, MORE!!! I gave. I give. And I am sick of it. So much so that next time to renew, I may say No, No, No!

Might look into that Americans for Gun Rights group. I am just sick of getting begged for mo' money every week or so. Does it ever stop? OH YES IT DOES! And it might very soon....

I've been a member for 2 weeks and I've received 4 letters asking me to renew my membership and to donate more money. It definitely gets old quick.

Only thing I get on a regular basis is American Rifleman, maybe an envelope of offers/donation request once a month. I am a regular member and business alliance member, I made sure to sign up myself and check off not to get offers from partners.

Makes you wonder how much of what you donate goes right back out the door in the form of requesting more money.

    An insubstantial amount.

It's a business like anything else. Have you seen the mansion the guy that runs the NRA lives in? I don't think Justin Bieber's house is that nice.

At least their cause is a good one. Kony 2012, anyone?

Yep. I had just re-upped to a 5 year membership and a mailing to renew my membership came about a week later! I get more mail than anything, probably once or twice a week. But some email and a phone call once. I guess it's like feeding a stray -- once you give more they keep on coming back. I feel like a marked man. :eek4:

Tell me what other group is out there fighting for my rights as a gun owner that can make a difference. I became a LIFE member and don't get near as much junk mail as I did before. I get CC apps from all kind of folks and if you want to get junk mail join AARP. Yep the NRA is a pain in the a** but during the last session of the legislature, the NRA was down here fighting for me and all other gun store in the state to keep from killing us with usless paperwork. No other group was here doing that. Hey just my 1/2 cent.

Just call them and ask all mailings to stop... ( it works )

As ole' Clit Ton would say "I can feel your pain" ..

I re-upped with the NRA as a life member and said it would only work for me if they stopped all mailing to my home. It did stop all mail.

I sold printing for a while and would have loved to have an account that generated the paper volume the NRA does.

This. The volume of mail went way down once I became a life member quite a while back. The rest I just throw. When I think of the alternative as in no NRA, the annoyance is minor if any. It's ok to be annoyed by the junk mail. Just don't lose sight of what's at play here.

I called and told them to send only one renewal notice per year. That stopped the barrage of mailings.

However, all that junk mail helps keep the Post Office running...

One more thing, ask any politician what group he fears the most. 99% will tell you they don't want to be on the wrong side of the NRA. They want to stay on the good side for the votes.

Yep, you can get off the lists. You need to look at what you sign up for. :o

Even if you do not renew, they will still send you mail constantly.... When I first joined they kept sending that renew crap starting like a month after I signed up and it confused the hell out of me.... Hell I only bought a 1 year in 07 and I still receive mail every couple months saying its the last notice I will get to renew... Then next month comes along and I get another this is the last chance....:squint:

Never said I was against the NRA. Agreed, they are a great organization to have on our side.

That said, it's the unrelenting pandering for $$$$ that annoys the **** outta me! I gave money. I renewed my membership for 5 years last time. I gave MORE money, yet the beg-notices keep coming and coming and coming! Enough already. Between Mitt Romney mailings and NRA, I feel I keep the post office in business (locally) single-handedly.

    1. All junkmail begging aside, they're still the most powerful lobbying voice you have as a gun owner in this country- and still strike the most fear in the hearts and minds of the antis on a national level.

    2. Can I borrow $50? :dogkeke:

It's real easy, just like junk e-mail; toss it!

Takes .57 seconds to do either.

Most; and I do mean most, gun owners have no clue how far reaching NRA's programs go. Talk about underappreciated.
