Look this thread is not intended to talk about a law suit, the ones who want to discuss a law suit go do it in another thread.

I think a class action is still a viable option. If you can put together a list of enough people that feel they were wronged (not just in Louisiana), I could see a lawyer picking it up. Look at all the ridiculous things lawyers sue over these days and get paid for. Would the class action be successful? Who cares! I'd love to see it happen just so it would spawn more negative publicity for them.

Also, what is Dick's relationship with NRA? Do they have the NRA name on any of their hunting merchandise? Do they participate in any NRA events? I would like to see this relationship severed completely in a very public way if it exists. The NRA has much on its plate right now, but it would be good to follow up on in the future.

    you are an idiot.

under that in print the same color as the paper its printed on it CLEARLY STATES
"After cancellation the aggrieved party is encouraged to whine like a child to anyone who will listen then proceed to his nearest ambulance chaser to sue, like the people he claims are on government assistance"

If I could find my receipt, I'd pencil it in

i want to add, my refund included an Obama phone.

They should've given the return on a louisiana purchase card

Really though, I can see being upset, but this lawsuit stuff is nonsense. I had a nagging suspiscion this was going to be an issue, which is why I drove as far as I did to pick up all of mine, why I confirmed quantity the night before I left, and showed up at opening time the next day. I made good decisions, got up early, drove a long ways, etc. to make sure I got exactly what I wanted and had it in my hands. Yes the market changed making rifles more expensive, that isn't dick's fault. That said, if anyone feels as though a troy rifle is that important to their existence get your money straight and let me know.

A troy rifle is not important to my existence. If they banned ARs tomorrow and left AKs alone, I would not be impacted in the least. I personally don't care for anything AR. But this isn't about that. Do you think Dick's screwed their customers by doing this? Do you think they have good reason to be angry about it?

Is it possible troys could not meet the demand?

I'm pretty sure there are laws in place in some states that state a credit card charge MUST have the products delivered within a certain time frame, or disputing the charges can become problematic.

IIRC 30 days is what CC companies allow or a charge until delivery. So after 30 days there are all kinds of issues.

IANAL, but I would think a lawyer could tell you this

Did you order a rifle? From this post, I seem to gather you didn't.

I did not. Am I trespassing in this thread?
No, but for someone not affected by the situation at all, you seem to be pretty quick to be shouting for people to lawyer up, and rabble-rousing.

You're just being "that guy" who stands in the crowd shouting "GET HIM!" "Don't let him talk **** like that!" while two people prepare to fight. It's easy to do so when it's not your fight.

I spoke with Tom Griffin at Troy, he said they are aware of the situation this has put on both companies, and they are still talking with Dicks on a solution, and they are also looking at other retailers and FFLs. The rifles are still being built and Dicks cooperate office made the decision on the cancelation, Troy is still set to have the ordered rifles finished for the end of January. He said to check the website, call, or e-mail him everyday to keep up with what is going on. Social media outlets are up to date too he said.

To be honest, I am here because I loathe Dick's Sporting Goods and I have ever since they opened a store in Shreveport. I don't have a dog in this particular fight but would like to see them loose big time on this decision. Dick's has always been a "Fudd Store". When they first opened in Shreveport, I stopped by to check them out and pick up some 9mm. I was told they didn't sell handgun ammo or any ammo related to self defense. That irked me and was actually disappointed to see them get into the tactical market later and start selling ARs. I didn't think they deserved to benefit from that market. After these last shootings, they were the first to turn tail and run. F*** them, F*** them in their Fudd asses.

I am rabble rousing. Guilty as charged. I want to see them bloodied by this decision. I want an example made of them.

I just said I can see being upset in the post you quoted. That said, dicks not only refunded them, but sent another hundred dollars. Is it ideal? No. Could they have just given a refund? Yes. I would like to see anyone here, who has read the Dick's backorder policy tell me how a law suit is viable. I know that won't happen.

I just re-read the OP in this thread. My apologies, I'm backing out of it now. PM inbound to NOLA_Jack in a few.
