opening weekend was nice. one woody saturday, sunday we got 17 down. 2 of them were black ducks. But this past weekend after thanksgiving was the best. my dad and i were able to get my brother out of his wheelchair and into the duck blind with minimal effort. From truck, to 4 wheeler, to pirogue, to blind, his feet never touched the ground. It's been at least 10 years since he's been out in the swamp, and he's been in his chair for at least 5.
Of course we didn't see anything flying. we had a pair of woodducks lite, but they were a bit out of range and flew off. We listened to a pair of does walk around us for an hour and a half, but never could get a good shot with the revolver. he shot his shotgun a few times at a tree stump and spent about 75 rounds through his 380... the tree stump is now dead.
we had fun. his shotgun worked perfectly for him. thank yall for helpin me out with that. There are a few kinks we need to iron out, like a taller (and quieter) blind chair... but not much more. he was pretty gung ho about the whole hunt.
