If you're in a restaurant with a pistol in your hand and I'm clearly identifiable as LE and you're refusing to comply with my legal instruction, would it sound reasonable to you that you're intentional placing me in reasonable apprehension of receiving a battery?

    JR1572

Absolutely. I was just curious about the charge.

I'm actually grateful it took place. Otherwise, I'd probably have never heard of Chipoltle Restaurant. :dogkeke:

That's my question, where is the legal line drawn. Would it be okay for someone to walk around a restaurant with a pistol in their hand? As long as they don't point it at somebody that's fine?

The legal line is drawn at intent. Since brandishing isn't illegal in Louisiana than its a question of whether the handling of the pistol/rifle rose to an assault or was the person just being stupid/irresponsible. It's not cut and dried in Louisiana.

Let's say tapco sks guy was holding the gun like that was told by the manager to leave. He offers any kind of resistance (verbally). Would that reasonably place a person in fear for their safety or of receiving a battery?

Just looking at that picture, my opinion is that there would be a high likelihood of those two being disarmed at gunpoint and going to jail.

Legal question...if a slung rifle is the open carry equivalent of a holstered pistol, at what point does "handling" it in public become brandishing? I mean to me the dude holding his sweet ass SKS is no different than someone pulling out their handgun in public and waving it around.

    Agreed!

Some people's children... Derp on the right would definitely attract my notice if I was carrying. You don't think one of them might be Gecko45?

    Gotcha, that makes sense.

What idiots. Most of these open carry advocates make our cause look so much worse.

in all seriousness these idiots are lucky something worse didnt happen. I can just imagine someone with a cc permit and an itchy finger looking up from his spicy burrito and seeing these two idiots complete with scary "assault rifles" and (fearing the worst) drawing on them. Then you have a good old mexican stand off complete with innocent bystanders.

    im thinking this.

if i look up from my burrito to see fella number 1, i give him a nod and take another bite.
if i look up from my burrito to see fella number 2 walking around like that- i'd be inclined to draw.

    Izzo's >> Chipotle

I just saw that Chipoltle's does have a BR location- on West State St. :o :dogkeke:

PERFECT location for a corporate anti-gun, hell-bent-on-going-green establishment. :mamoru:

I'll take Izzo's- and leave my M4 at the house. :)

If I had been there, I would have been most offended by that tacticrap SKS. Perhaps I would have told the manager how offended I am at what he did to that rifle.

This makes us all look bad.

Why can't the DERPs just stay home?

Does anyone have a link to the actual statement from Chipotle?
More than just the select quotes from the media.

why can't these dipshits understand, they deserve to be harassed, they should be fined for being STOOPID!

Its right by LSU across the street from the chimes. I don't care for it, but a lot of people swear by it. I am not really a fast food fan and I consider it fast food. Its just like izzos just not as "good", if that's what you want to call izzos.
