    Per Facebook Comments:

the gun was never a threat or in his hands

Before they tell you that Alton Sterling was a thug or gangster or troublemaker, before they show you mugshots, before they degrade his character, know this - he was a family man beloved by many.

 Some people ARE that stupid.

The video has no lead up to the altercation, he is suddenly tackled and then almost immediately has two cops sitting on top of him. I don't see a lot of struggle before you hear gun fire. I agree the beginning of the altercation is missing and is important, but people will have pro-police and anti-police bias leading their decisions and with ONLY the cell phone video, it looks bad on BRPD. IMHO. Im sure Ill get attacked on here for that opinion, just stating my initial reaction.

No, I agree the video looks damning for the cops! If you're referring to the WAFB video then watch the video in the OP. You can hear the officer yelling to get on the ground before he is tackled. He is laying face up, his right arm is free, and he seems to be moving to his right. The shooting may have been a little more justified than what the video shows, but most won't see it that way. I'd be interested to see the security cam footage from the store.

Let's be honest here. The guy could have had a gun locked and loaded in each a hand and pointed directly at the officers and there still would be an uproar. At the end of the day, they really believe cops suit up every morning looking to go out and shoot a random black guy. You cannot reason with that sort of stupidity. When an attorney general tells law enforcement to stand down and let rioters burn and loot innocent people's businesses to "vent" then all is lost.

So when are they going to burn down their neighborhood? Then cry because there's nowhere to buy 40s and blunts? When is bobblehead Al Sharpton going to show up? It would have been cool if a bunch of brodozers had run through there last night rolling coal. Bet they don't bring that $hit to South Baton Rouge.

It does look bad for the police, but all we can really see from the footage is two fairly average sized officers trying to subdue a fairly large man. It looks as if they have an upper hand before the shoots but again we have no idea what is happening in the "bottom of the pile" so I will take the position that we dont know if it was a good shoot or not until we know. If he had a gun on him as suggested he could have been reaching for it. But we dont know.

The one thing we can safely assume that wasnt on that footage and the BLM $hitbags will automaticly disregard. The cops didn't just show up and attack some random black dude for kicks.

It's just the beginning. As this gains national coverage and they think the country is listening, and the crowds get larger is when it'll happen. I'm in central, less than 10 minutes drive from where this is happening. May be spending the next couple nights at the deer camp.

Nope, probably shouldn't have threatened to shoot somebody. Maybe should have followed the officer's commands since they knew a gun was involved... Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

You know the thing that pisses me off about all this is someone called and asked the police to protect them from this guy. The modern day ghetto may as well be. Some where in the sand box. The so call inocent people ask for help. The good guys come to help only the be hated, often attack and killed by the bad guys and/or the so called inocent. Why again as a society do we continue to allow our good people to put themselves in harms way for thd scum of the earth either here or in the sand box?

I'd go find the video on here "Dashcam/Bodycam video (in current events)" because this video took place in Feb. 23 of this year, where 2 officers were shot less than a block away from this store! I don't know why the above mentioned video wasn't big news? people should know cops aren't screwing around in that hood! I don't blame them one bit for being overly aggressive in that area where they run a high risk of being shot, especially running a shooting threat/gun call.
