I'm guilty of slowing down on people who tailgate me. I don't like people inches away from my bumper, so I'll try and encourage them to pass. I don't drive under the speed limit either though. This may make me re-think my driving skills. There's a whole lot of stupidity wrapped up into this story.
If you visit this page you know we always stress being careful as you go through your day. Occasionally, no matter how careful you are, it's your time to have a bad day. Such was the case tonight around 6:15pm in the 13400 block of Joor Rd. A south bound vehicle strikes a deer and sends the deer flying through the air and completely through the windshield of a north bound car. All of the deer entered the north bound car except the neck and head and the deer struck both occupants on the front seat. Hold on, it gets more unbelievable.. The north bound car was a "student driver car" with the student driving. Both occupants in the north bound car were injured, but fortunately no life threatening injuries.
I was thinking about the last time I did this: I was on Joor rd north of Denham rd in a 50mph zone travelling 20mph with some ******* glued to my bumper... I was ready to beat the living **** out of whoever was in the car. I had my wife and kids with me, and I was livid. My wife was terrified and wasn't happy with me doing what I was, but I don't understand the need to tailgate when I'm not driving slow, and we're the only ones on the road in sight, and there's plenty spots to pass.
I just saw this on Central's fire dept FB page and figured I'd share:
What is the use of a firearm in a school zone charge?

Must have fired the gun while being around a school (maybe within 1,000ft of a school)...I'm not sure that charge will stick tho.
People are crazy, especially around the holidays!
Burgess and N.walker... There's 2 school's right there, and the walker PD.
So the "victim" says get out an do something idiot number II whips out his hardware shoots the guys car and the proceed to continue said foolishness to Baton Rouge and back. It's hard to believe two people this stupid could survive adolescents and their twenties to find one another and do stupid things together. I blame warning labels.
I agree, to a certain extent. I mean, everyone has gotten aggravated driving in traffic... can anyone here say they've never flipped the bird, blown their horn, or yelled at another driver? Not making excuses for the guy, he's definitely a derp for tailgating and calling other dude out like that. But, the slow driver fired his weapon without any threat present, he tried to murder the guy! I don't see how you can equate the two, they are not on the same level of idiocy.

Walker PD was probably second to the show because they had to wrap up their speed traps before they could pursue... I used to live right there and Walker cops are notorious for being dicks and running speed traps. I can't necessarily comment on the dick part because I've never had to deal with a walker cop, and they mainly deal with pill & meth heads out that way, so I don't really blame them. I'm sure if they ran a blood sample they'd find more than alcohol.
But then he proceeded to follow said unstable deep to Baton Rouge and back to Walker. I'm not sure who was the dumbest. They each have their on level of stupid.
ETA: If you ever have to drive through walker... DO NOT SPEED! you have been warned.
Walker PD has never bothered me any of the numerous times I've been through there a little over the limit. I probably wasn't being a dick and speeding 20 over though.
Burgess used to be 55 and go down to 35 in front of the PD. They used to speed trap it at least 2-3 times a week (probably still do). It's wise not to speed through Walker, especially not in front of the PD.
Oh boy as if the trolls don't mess with you enough you got to go grab a play right out of my playbook and talk about traffic patrols for profits. Tread carefully my friend and remember you cannot call someone a dips*** or a douche no matter how wide you smile when you post it.
